MEET DIDI
Dorothy “DiDi” Day is the designer and creative director at the helm of Dos Gardenias, working between Los Angeles, New York, and Hawaii. A sixth-generation Angeleno, she carries forward a family legacy of entrepreneurship and philanthropy while carving her own lane in the worlds of design and culture.
Her influence has long stretched beyond swimwear. DiDi’s eye spans across fashion, music, architecture, art, and design. Before founding Dos Gardenias, she studied photography at Otis Parsons, curated architectural projects, built a contemporary art collection, and was a fixture in LA’s creative scene (before the power of social media encouraged her entrepreneurship). Whether hosting the most talked-about parties in the canyon, discovering the next great band, or collaborating beachside, she’s always been a catalyst for culture.
A lifelong ocean devotee, DiDi launched the fashion and surf-minded lifestyle magazine SALT in 2005. That same passion for style, adventure, and unapologetic individuality led her to her next chapter, building Dos Gardenias into a swimwear brand that balances strength, softness, and the kind of confidence that doesn’t ask for permission.
